Carers Services are putting together weekly updates for carers in Bury, Salford and Manchester. If you would like to be added to our distribution list, please email* also letting us know which area as mentioned above you live in.

Other services external to Gaddum.

There are a range of other services locally and nationally that are available to offer advice and support to people at this time. These might be new or existing services available and are on offer for people of all ages and is specified where possible. It is important to note that Gaddum accept no liability for any negative experiences you may encounter when contacting them. But note all services are experiencing higher calls than normal. Please be patient. Everyone is doing their best to keep everyone safe and well.

  • This is a page for support during the Covid-19 pandemic, which offers advice and support to a range of different mechanisms. These include tips on exercise, wellbeing, accessing foodbanks and advice from trusted agencies and organisations.

    • Community Hubs/Together GM

    Community Hubs have been established in each local authority area to provide support for the most vulnerable in each borough. Alongside this a dedicated website for support called Together GM has been created with advice and tips for health, finances, wellbeing and more.

    The hubs coordinate support for those who do not have any other way of sourcing food and medical supplies. They are also helping vulnerable residents to access hardship grants. Visit the GMCA website for details on your local community hub.

  • National advice on Covid-19 and where support is available.

    • Manchester City Council

    Support is available to our vulnerable people in or communities. If you or someone you needs help during these times, please do ring the helpline on 0800 2346123 or visit the council website.

    • Kooth

    Kooth is an online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people aged 11 to 18 years. A safe mental health and wellbeing platform

    where you can have live chats with a counsellor, set yourself goals and chat with others safely.

    • Scams

    Friends Against Scams, part of National Trading Standards have put together information & support to help prevent people from being victims of scams. Visit their website for more information.

    • Shout text service

    Shout is a free 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you are struggling to cope and need immediate help. Click the image below for text information.

    • Spirit of Salford Network

    The Spirit of Salford Network is a collaboration of lots of different organisations and

    volunteers across Salford, and it’s here to to help you during these challenging times. Whether it’s practical help while you are self-isolating, or support with your

    wellbeing, the Spirit of Salford is here for you. There is a dedicated Helpline available 8:30am to 6pm Mon-Fri and 9am-1pm on Saturdays;
