This Social & Health Care related service has been freely provided for 27yrs. Supported by a dedicated database that matches services & resources to meet people’s needs, this is an independent & confidential service giving people an opportunity to discuss their needs and identify possible solutions.

 

 

 

Examples of issues we support are:

 

·      Rights under Health & Community Care Law,

 

 

·      Care and Health Service Entitlements,

 

 

·      Availability of local Regional & National support groups & organisations

 

 

·      Availability of grants trusts funds for individuals & families in need 

 

 

 

 

Examples of questions we get asked are:

 

·      “I have been told I do not qualify for services I think I need is this right?”

  

 

·      "Is there a support group for parents in my area?"  

 

  

 

·      "I don't know where to begin..."  

 

  

 

·      "I have special needs what are my rights?"  

 

  

 

·      "Where might I get money for...?"  

 

  

 

·      "Who can help with my child's problem?"

Advocacy - we have two specialist advocacy workers who can support with the following issues:

 

Carers Advocacy - We support carers whose friends or family are using or about to use residential care, We can help with issues such as- knowing your rights, resolving issues, guiding you through a maze of services and systems - call on

Older People's Advocacy - We support people over 50 who live in Manchester  and may want support with - Feeling low - too much time on your hands - Isolation - health - mobility -debt - benefits -security - housing - or anything else call on 0161 214 3939 or leave a message on the same number.
