Manchester District Nursing Institution Fund

Grants may be made for the relief of people on low income, persons who are sick, convalescent or disabled by providing or paying for items or services which are calculated to alleviate the suffering or assist the recovery. No grant may be made directly to relieve rates, taxes or other public funds.

The area covered by the Fund is the "Cities of Manchester, Salford and Trafford"

The Dr Garrett Memorial Trust Fund.

The Trust provides holidays for children and their carers who have not had a funded holiday during the past three years. They must be resident in the City of Manchester and in need of a holiday because of "sickness, disability or poverty". Grants can also be made to fund group holidays.

Applications  must be received by the end of April each year.

Manchester Relief in Need  Fund   and

Manchester Children's Relief in Need Fund.

Both charities have the same Trustees and are for the "Relief in Need" for people living in the City of Manchester.

The provision of the schemes gives the Trustees a wide choice in the kind of relief they can provide. The Trustees are unable to make grants directly for payment of community charge, taxes, or other public funds (e.g. income tax, payment of fines). It is very rare that consideration is given to individuals who have received a grant during the previous twelve months.

The Trustees meet during the last week of every month, and applications must be received by the 15th of every month.

The Lord Mayor Of Manchester Charity Appeal Trust

The fund provides one-week low cost holidays in Great Britain for families who have not had a funded holiday together during the past three years, who are on a low income and are residents in the City of Manchester.

Applications must be submitted by a professional person on behalf of the family and must be received by the end of April each year.
